I love the park so much I have affectionately renamed it, "Kenny". Exercise, fresh air (relatively), and biodiversity awaits you!
I love this place. I stayed coming here with my son when he was an infant. It is an especially great spot for mothers with babies and toddlers.
There are places to go and things to see. I love that I can bring my son, who's three, to a pond! There's a creek and a man made waterfall too, bonus points. There are different kinds of ducks there, a few geese, turtles, fish, squirrels, and so on. You WILL see animals every time, which is a real great experience for children.
There are picnic tables scattered throughout with shade, a big plus. Half of the park is shady most of the time, especially in the first half of the day. This is great for kids too.
You can fish here during certain seasons and you can also keep some of the fish to eat. There are bass and I think possibly catfish. They stock it annually I believe. You can probably find out more on their website.
There are playground across the driveway, multiple structures, so kids love that.
Just remember to clean up, please! A lot of families come here to see the wildlife, but not the plastic cups and napkins and whatnot that collect in the pond or the river sometimes.
Came here today with my fiance it was his first time here. We walked for over an hour which was really good. I enjoyed our walk and talk. We both will be back soon.
There is free parking on weekdays but there is a fee on weekends. This park is a gift to all mod city residents. I go here to scape the everyday grind even if it's only a few hours. There is a stream running down to the bottom pond that is full of ducks and turtles. Saw a couple people fishing but honestly they should leave the fishes alone. The pond isn't really big. I usually sit on a rock and listen to the water run down. Its been my favorite park for years, i just wish they would get rid of those ugly nasty oils rigs they have there, what an eye sore.
