My first time at the library... not planned. So, it is a wonderful discovery. Parking is only available on the surrounding neighborhood streets. And it could be challenging to get parked. But people are always coming and leaving... so not too bad...at least today. The Library is located on the Memorial Park Grounds (playground adjacent). Overall, I enjoyed the time spent in this Historical Library. 👍🏾🙏🏽❣️🦋 *Blackbutterfly Expressions*

Designed by the same architect as the Griffith Observatory, John C. Austin! This library is an old one floor and small library when compared to others in the area. Still a relatively quiet place to read and work, when children aren't running around ;)

Very nice public library inside an old LA building. Books are well organized. Good staff. Right next to a park with wide open space for various activities.

OMG... I was just reminiscing about my high school years, spent right across the street at old LA High, which was sadly torn down because the earthquake and replaced with a building looking more like a federal prison, and is why I was so happy to see that this magnificent structure still stands.
It was here that Dr. J. Allen Hynek, the greatest UFO researcher of all time, came out just to tell we teenagers about the reality of UFOs, long before it was popular. When I got to meet him personally after the talk, it was the high point of my entire life. He was a great man, far ahead of his time.
It was also interesting to learn that this library was designed by the same man who designed the Griffith Observatory, and I hope that this beautiful place, and it's remarkably peaceful park, live on til' the end of time. Thanks for the walk down Memory Lane:)
