Place is a great hike. A year ago.
Trail is closed indefinitely when I was there on 2019.01.19
Fires burnt out the entire canyon and then the rains washed away the trail.
Perfect trailhead
This was a fun hike i wish i would have brought more water i would have done a longer hike. You definitely need to pay attention where you walk its a very small path with ups and downs. I loved that there were plenty of trees for shade, not to mention i forgot my sunscreen. I would definitely do this hike again.
Oh and i went alone, i dont thunk this is a good hike for groups nor children.
Cute, quick little hike. 3 small waterfalls in one location - lots of poison oak, ivy, etc. The only way to get down to the 2nd & 3rd falls is by rock hopping / scrambling along the river bed - which has some little water in it. Beautiful scenery and near the Backbone trail which is a quite a bit longer hike. You actually start the hike at the backbone trailhead, follow the path until you reach a small sign where you make a left while as it points to the right for the backbone trail.

This is a great hike! Parking is free with the option to donate to State Parks. It's an easy 5 mile round trip or go further on the Backbone Trail. Constant climb & descent throughout the trail. It can get hot in the middle of the day during summer, so I would recommend getting there before 8am. And it's a great hike for dogs!

Early on this year there was little to report as the lack of rain made for a pretty barren winter. The unusual deep dust of winter had been knocked down by the late spring rains but things are still unusually dry and the dust has returned.
