(March 1, 2020, 7:08 pm)I gave this place 5stars because I enjoy the fresh salsas and radishes at the salsa bar. My favorite however is the sautéed peppers. Even bland food is great with a salsa bar like this.

(April 19, 2019, 10:54 pm)What happens when you find a restaurant that makes great food? You eat there a lot! I have spent the last 3 weeks eating here trying everything just about! I would say this restaurant is in the top 5 in San Diego for Mexican food along with everyone that wants here. My favorite thing is the Pulled Pork Fries by far and the TJ taco's on Tuesday's for 1.50 is a steal.
Update: Their breakfast burritos are some of the worst I have had. They were quite tasteless and the potatoes were on the raw side. The cheese is seems like it is on the processed side which is disappointing. I am not sure, but I can't take a star for this since everything else they do is great!
Update Part 2: They still have live music! I live just across the street and they always have a band playing. You can't get mad at people for calling in there orders then walking in and picking it up. Many people do this. It looks dead! Well you got lucky normally there is a line to order and to pickup food. There are main unwarranted low reviews and I am not sure why. -

(November 30, 2018, 1:54 am)Was it “better before”? Yes. Is it “a little expensive”? Yes. But is it the best burrito you can get in imperial beach? Yes! The bad reviews state that “it used to be better”, but it’s still the best in the area. I’ve been coming to this place since it opened, and have visited all the Mexican places in the area. The burritos here are hands down the best tasting and most delicious burritos you can buy in the area. Call it nostalgia, but I love this place. Do yourself a favor- get the California burrito with guacamole (they didn’t charge me extra like they did before), and the orange salsa. Even with the higher prices, the removal of the salsa bar, and the layout constantly changing, this is my favorite place to eat when I’m home. Great places deserve to expand and try new things as long as the food is still bomb. I love you, El Cilantro.
