Hey yelpers ! I wanted to share with you my experience with lumina builders. From start to end I had many doubts in contractors but honestly after working with Joey Dahan it all changed.
We've been planning a large-scale project for about 7 years almost pull the trigger many times but always backed out. After our initial meeting that was about almost 3 hours we're really felt comfortable with Joey and the company.
We did about a month and a half of planning and shopping that included design and going to stores to shop for materials.
Joey had a lot of patience for my wife that really didn't know what she wanted.
The project took about three and a half months included our kitchen two and a half baths flooring paint and some miscellaneous small stuff. There were of course multiple issues and hiccups in our 1970s house. But really Joey did above and beyond to be communicative and find creative ways to find solutions.
We are super happy with the end result and would gladly recommend lumina builders.

After a year of living in our dated Bird Rock home, we were finally ready to tackle a major renovation. We needed to completely remodel the kitchen, two bathrooms, a bedroom suite, plus new flooring and full interior paint. After consulting with several builders, we chose Lumina Builders.

From the start, our project manager Oded Friedman was honest and resourceful in helping us navigate a major remodel and the dozens of design decisions required. He has a strong artistic sense along with deep construction knowledge so we always felt in good hands. Additionally, our construction lead, George, was a perfectionist about detail work so everything was done beautifully.

We never experienced the issue of "change orders" jacking up the price. The only time we paid extra was when we discovered that all of our old plumbing was rotting. That wasn't part of the original bid so we paid for that directly to the plumber. With every other unexpected problem, Lumina absorbed the cost.

Considering that we did all this work during Covid 19, it's a miracle we finished only a couple months late. To keep us safe, they staged construction so that we could remain in our house. For example, during those scary, early days of Covid, we stayed snugly inside an unused downstairs bedroom/bathroom while work took place upstairs and around us.

We are now daily enjoying the beautiful look and modern comforts of our renovated home.

Ron of Lumina Builders was a joy to work with on our master bath remodel! From the day he arrived to give an estimate to the day of completion, Ron was honest, attentive, responsive, and highly competent.
Honest because he never once under estimated costs or hid costs. In fact, that first meeting he didn't even give an actual estimate because he went back to the shop to calculate a real estimate of time and materials. He did not ever say, "don't worry about it" instead he said "let me explain it to you." For me personally that is how I like to operate when I am spending thousands of dollars. I prefer to be told everything in order to make a decision, not depend on an "expert" to tell me what I want, that is attention that I require when working on large jobs.
But do not get me wrong, Ron is an expert at his job. He learned about us and our wants and then he delivered on those, just as he promised that he would. He was on the job site several days each week to assess, to ask for our input, and to respond. He hired contractors that were efficient, professional, and friendly. Every worry I had (and I shared them all with him), he addressed until I was completely satisfied. Sometimes that involved re-doing work (I did not like the first 2 paint choices) and sometimes that involved re-figuring how to do something (had to move an already moved ceiling fixture because the new shower door was impacted). All because the contractors were highly competent and would not leave until they were sure we felt confident in the final product.
Overall, I could not be happier with the remodel and every moment I spend in my new master bath reassures me that we picked the right company for this job.

I Can't say enough about Lumina Builders and the owner David and his project managers and the whole team. They came in and made the 60s kitchen I'm living in that was once my grandparents into the most beautiful open kitchen!! They took down a wall, and completely gutted the whole thing and now it's modern, big and open! They're design team was awesome too!! He quoted me about 60 days to do the work and only because it was the holidays so there was down time, it was just a few days more!! They were polite, neat and cleaned up every day before they left! There's nothing in there that I would change!! I've called a few times since to ask questions about things and a few minor adjustments needed to be made and someone came out right away and fixed it, no questions asked! In the beginning I told him my budget and the whole job even came in a little bit under! I highly recommend this company to do whatever remodeling you need some!!

Our family just had a highly satisfying first time renovation project with Lumina Builders …. Our old kitchen was modernized and the adjacent toilet was converted to a full toilet and bath. Since we are novice in this area, we utilized help to identify a few builders we can choose from.
We invited three (3) contractors and David with Lumina builders was outright impressive.He accommodated all the ideas of family members.  His accurate and concrete conceptualization matched our ideas. He verbalized the plans in a very understandable manner with an open mind to suggestions and whims of the homeowner. And the quote was the most fair and reasonable.

It is admirable how he orchestrated a pool of workers coming and going.. with synchronized movement. The workers were mostly pleasant and seemed comfy with us hovering sometimes and anxious of the results of the task on hand.

The project proceeded well, with minimum lapses. What  helped a lot was the accessibility of David who regularly monitored the site and answered all calls and text messages he was courteous throughout the encounter and his "gift" including his person skills facilitated communication to be open.

The project was done within the agreed schedule. Since our kitchen and dining area is our "command center" in the house, the fantastic work of art of Lumina Builders make our every minute stay in the place most satisfying and enjoyable. Our family and friends who visited love it.. especially the backsplash and the wide toilet and bath.

We will definitely recommend Davids group to our acquaintances.
