  I didn't do the whole trail, but I thought it is a great trail that gives you the perfect nature escape. It can get muddy so beware. On the trail you are greeted and surrounded by lots of green trees and a stream. Parking can be rough as there are limited stalls. Also I don't believe there any public restrooms nearby

  Great park for hiking. The park has various levels of difficulty with bathroom access at the parking lot. Approximately 25 parking spaces available and not very crowded. Overall good place to go hiking.

  I couldn't expect to be so excited visiting Sam McDonald County Park. The park is mostly redwood Forest with young and old trees and most amazing for me their remnants. Life in our Planet in its all beauty! From extensive trial network of the park I selected and enjoy only one. Clamping through forest on the top of the hill, enjoying surroundings from the top was great pleasure and emotionally very relaxing. Thanks a lot for gifted nice place. I will be back surely.

  Went too late to enjoy sun among the redwoods. Nice little gem of a place. Saw few other people. Signage lacking for the Heritage Grove itself (or so discreet that we missed it), though trails were well marked. Fire trail wide and sunny made for a very different feel than the forest. Climb up from Heritage Grove to fire tower only 500 feet. Trails in wonderful condition. All in all too difficult to get to though. Would consider combining with surrounding sister parks for longer hikes. This whole complex feels like it mainly caters to horses.

  Stunning, approachable trails with old growth redwoods, banana slugs and beautiful groves to pause and soak in all the beauty.
