It gives me great pleasure to write a testimonial for Miss Tanya's home away from home. Being a single mother, searching for daycare for my daughter was a difficult task. I needed a daycare provided who would accept my flexible schedule, who was affordable and most importantly somewhere my daughter would be given one on one attention.I can proudly say I found that and more at home away from home. I've never been so happy and comfortable leaving my daughter anywhere. It is like dropping her off at her second home. She has attended home away from home for 15months and I am amazed at how much she has learned during that time. Miss Tanya and her assistant Tawny work very hard at making sure each child is well taken care of and my daughter has blossomed in so many ways from a little toddler to a little lady. Miss Tanya has an amazing gift of recognizing a child's individual needs. She quickly assessed Eliza's needs and addressed them. She worked with me to adjust Eliza's schedule so she could fully benefit from the preschool. Eliza's confidence and mannerisms are above all a testimony to the type of care she has received. My daughter has developed a happy little social life for herself. She dances and sings to music, recites her alphabet, recognize s letters, counts, she knows all her shapes including pentagon, octagon, trapezoid and parallelogram. She loves trying to speak spanish, which she also learns there. This is just part of her monthly curriculum. Miss Tanya has 3 wonderful outdoor play area's. The black top area is where the children ride bikes, play games, have parachute time or chalk time. The grass area is covered with swings, slides, play houses and a big play structure where chasing the monster is the biggest hit at Miss Tanya's. It is comforting to know that I can go off to work in peace knowing that my daughter is having a fun filled day with Miss Tanya and her friends.

Both of my twin sons went to Home Away from Home full time starting in 2009 when they were 3 and weren't doing well in the kindergarten-like setting of their first daycare/school. My husband and I felt they were in need of more one-on-one adult attention and a little less focus on desk-based learning. I cannot begin to describe how they flourished at Home Away from Home.

Miss Tanya runs what I would consider to be a cross between preschool and daycare. It is a very nurturing environment for young kids (babies up to 6 years old). They do plenty of educational activities such as craft projects, counting, abc's, learning colors and shapes, nursery rhymes and songs, weather and nature reports, spanish, etc. But they also do a lot of outdoor play (two beautiful play areas), holiday/theme "party" days, and get plenty of time to just be kids playing with each other, with constant supervision and gentle direction to keep them from getting into trouble.

This place was the opposite of "institutional" and pretty much perfectly fits with my idea of what childcare should provide: A safe, loving, stimulating place where your children are treasured and taught social skills in a kind and compassionate way.

My kids love Miss Tanya and Home Away from Home was a really great experience for our whole family.

Our daughter has been going to Home Away From Home Preschool since August of 2011, and we couldn’t be happier with the choice we made to place her there. When we went to go visit the preschool, the thing that stuck out to us was how happy and excited all of the children were. Ms. Tanya is a wonderful teacher who cares about each of the children. She provides excellent care with stimulating activities, art projects, and ample structured learning time. Ms. Tanya has clear expectations for the children. Miss Tawny is also excellent. She is great with the children and my daughter loves them both! My daughter brings home many art projects that she has done herself, which ties in with a monthly theme Ms. Tanya has. Another thing that is really helpful is the daily reports Ms. Tanya does. They let me know how my child ate that day, how she slept, and what they learned.
The daycare itself is child-centered with a huge learning and playing area inside, and 3 outside play areas for the children. One thing I really like about Ms. Tanya’s is that the children get lots of outdoor time to play.
I cannot say enough good things about Home Away From Home Preschool. We feel so lucky to have our daughter there.

My husband and I began looking for childcare for our daughter when she was approximately 1 year old. Our last daycare situation had recently undergone a schedule change and we needed someone to watch our daughter four days a week. After weeding out various other providers we enthusiastically decided on Home Away From Home with Miss Tanya. The first thing we noticed was the beautiful play equipment and outdoor play areas for the kids. There is lots of room to play and explore outside, all within a safe enclosed area. We knew our daughter would get the outdoor time she enjoys, but we were equally impressed with the inside of the home. It is always immaculately clean and half of the house is dedicated to the Daycare/Preschool. Several times a week she comes home with cute crafts that she made during the day; everything from styrofoam boats, painted leopards, a (laminated) yearly calendar with her hand prints, to paper alligators and baby chick hats with feathers. She is so well taken care of here and she absolutely loves coming each day to play with her friends and learn new things. She says her alphabet, counts numbers, sings "twinkle, twinkle little star" and is always learning something new. She is the first one there in the morning and runs up to Miss Tanya to help her with her morning coffee. It's reassuring to see how comfortable and happy she is when she arrives, and it gives us peace knowing we don't have to worry about her while she is in the care of Miss Tanya. We know she feels safe and loved here and is the happiest little girl.Miss Tanya is always energetic, friendly and genuinely excited to see her in the morning. She has a special ability to make her feel important even among the other children there. Our daughter comes home proud of her accomplishments of the day, whether it be riding the tricycle, talking about the little frogs she saw in the yard or showing off her latest craft project. We truly feel that our daughter is nurtured and loved and we are so grateful for Miss Tanya. We would love to be with our daughter all day every day, but since we cannot be, we are so blessed to have Miss Tanya do the honors. We would recommend Home Away From Home to anyone and hope this bit of information we can share will help anyone make that tough decision of where to send your child for care.

Prior to bringing my son to Home Away from Home he had been with our babysitter in a one on one situation. We had been working with him on the basic skills, however we felt that it was time to get him socialized so the hunt began for a trustworthy daycare/preschool. I had a few recommendations from friends, but none seemed to be the right atmosphere for our son as he is pretty intelligent and needs lots of intellectual stimulation to keep him occupied.
What a delightful surprise when I came upon Miss Tanya's place! She has basically transformed her entire HOME into a haven for the children. The learning area is the biggest that I have seen in an in home daycare situation, the backyard play area is every child's dream and the children seem to genuinely LOVE Miss Tanya and her staff. The facility is beautiful and well cared for and the children appear to thrive under her care. My son gets so excited on the days that he has school and is always eager to talk about all of the great things that he has learned that day.
Thank you to everyone at Miss Tanya's for instilling a love of learning in my little boy. :-)
