If you are looking for an exceptional guitar instructor, Jim at The Guitar Academy is your guy!! Jim taught 3 of my adult children to play guitar; and after being witness to their successes, I was recently inspired to take lessons myself. I have never played any kind of instrument, so I’m excited and encouraged by the progress I’ve made with Jim in such a very short time. I definitely recommend Jim no matter your skill level!!!
I started guitar lessons with Jim several years ago. Each session gives me more to work on and I'm a much better guitar player because of his teaching style. I'm the lead vocalist and songwriter for the metal band Reaping Recompense and those roles are my primary focus. Jim knows this and shows me how being a great guitar player will only make me a better singer and lyricist. I highly recommend The Guitar Academy to anyone regardless of their skill level. Jim not only teaches guitar, he lives the life of a performing guitar player. This gives him the ability to share experiences and wisdom with those of us who are on the road to becoming performing musicians.

I've been taking lessons from Jim for several years now. He teaches what I need to learn and practice to become the skilled guitar player I want to be. Although I am heavy into the metal genre, Jim shows me the importance of learning other styles in order to become a more well-rounded musician. My brother and I have been taking guitar lessons for almost 5 years. After those 5 years we are good enough players to play on stage and in a band. Jim is an excellent guitar teacher. My 16 year old daughter goes to lessons and he has taught her so well. He is compassionate and wants his students to succeed.
