Beautiful neighborhood church. Wonderful Solemn Mass.
This is a very special parish, the D.C. residence of the Oratory of St. Philip of Neri. The Oratory priests are dedicated to the majesty of the Mass, and because they are permanent residents, not subject to being moved around every few years, are building strong ties with the local community. The priests are really a cut above, and they are constantly improving the parish's mission, the experience of the Mass, and their parishioners' spiritual experience.
7:30 pm mass in Sunday was incredibly convenient and beautiful! Felt right at home. The choir was reverent and stunning. The stained glass on the church is amazing- includes mysteries of the rosary! Amazing artistry. Also, the Sacred Heart of Jesus statue inside = 😍. Thanks for a fruitful prayer experience on the feast of Christ the King!!
Home to Congregation of the Oratory, St. Thomas Apostle is a wonderful beacon of faith in DC. The Fathers hold Mass here daily and have various thriving groups for young adults, women, as well as a formal "Little Oratory" for tertiary brothers that meets Wednesday nights.
I highly recommend that you go to the Oratory's Facebook page to find out more about the many talks and spiritual conferences they frequently offer.
St. Thomas Apostle in Washington, D.C. is a wonderful Catholic church with exceptional priests, beautiful liturgy, and plenty of opportunities for formation, interesting talks and fellowship. The Bible Study groups are engaging and the youth community is vibrant. St. Thomas Apostle also has different Masses to serve every community. I highly recommend this church to anyone seeking to enhance and celebrate their Catholic faith.
