I currently am an intern for Dr. Susan Posada at the Natures Oak Wellness Center and have had the opportunity to take her Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction 8-week course. Now come week 7, I’ve been able to make the lessons we learn in group transcend into everyday life. During these intimate group lessons we were able to learn how to apply mindfulness to reduce anxiety and stress, better our active listening skills and better our techniques to communicate effectively in interpersonal relationships. The one thing that I learned about mindfulness that stuck with me is that the active practice of mindfulness in our daily routine, actually helps re-configure pathways in our brain,-instead of living on auto pilot with automatic/invasive thoughts, we learn to be a witness to our thoughts and emotions. We participated in a Body Scan meditation along with other helpful sitting meditations as well as some beginner yoga. Above all, i feel as though anyone, of any age, would benefit from sitting in an MBSR group session and am appreciative of the chance to sit in for the last seven weeks.

She’s simply the best! I have been seeing Dr. Posada off and on for probably 5 years now. I had a really difficult time finding a therapist I could connect with and someone who actually cared about me getting better. She has helped heal me in more ways than I can count. She does hypnotherapy and rapid resolution therapy. By far my favorite. I want to be able to talk about things and move on from them/work through them, not dwell on them. She got me to a point where I was seeing her every week to seeing her whenever it’s needed. Which is why I say off and on. She always takes me back no matter how much time there is in between. I have recommended her to a few friends because I believe in her and her work. I’ll never be able to repay her for all the help she has been throughout the years. Especially during some of the most difficult times of my life. You need a change - go see her. HIGHLY recommend! :)
