(January 12, 2019, 8:23 am)Gracie Barra; named after the town it was founded in Barra da Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro in 1986, by Master Carol Gracie JR.
Draws it's roots from the founding family of BJJ. It's an honor to train under the head instructor Coach Chris; does an awesome job of breaking down BJJ for beginners and advanced practioners as well.
Facility is new & modeled very nicely inside, with state of the art mats. Provides a very positive environment to train in. All ages from kids classes to adult.
Everyone at the facilty from student to staff shows respect & truly cares about their colleague's well being & growth in this art. -

That’s because typical gyms are mind-numbingly boring and I personally wanted to find a way to stay fit and motivated at the same time. Everyone who joins has their own reasons, but I can tell you the instructors at Gracie Barra provide safe and friendly training environment to learn. Training is methodically organized in specific sessions to maximize your knowledge across all levels of experience so unlike some other places, newer members will develop a deep understanding of the fundamentals to minimize risk for yourself and the more experienced members.
Simply, GB New Lenox provides clean, positive atmosphere and I highly recommend this for both Kids and Adults.
