Preservation Maryland is completing an archealogical study of the Fort Tonoloway 1755 Fort and surrounding area during 2019. Perhaps the State Park will re-open someday with new information on this French & Indian War era site that pre-dated Fort Frederick as the frontier fort in this part of Western Maryland
