Great National Historical Monument! Great self guided trails.
Excellent Visitor Center with very friendly, well informed park rangers to answer any questions. there’s a video as well as a decent exhibition to help get you started.
This is a good placd to start if you are going to drive through the historical area. They offer maps and information. They also have an educational movie presentation concerning key people and points of interest.
great place to spend the day looking at nature and historical sites for free. They have rest rooms which are just 4 minutes walk from parking lot. Plenty of free parking for car, buses, vans and cars with trailers. I arrived with my trailer to carry 4+ bicycles and found parking with no problems. The rest rooms are very clean. You can go biking or hiking for miles end. A couple of years ago it was just me and my wife and we spent like 4 hours biking. This past time we had our children and we did a nice ride for like 1.5 hrs round trip
Great introduction to the historical battles with a map showing the movements of both sides. The tavern setting with the life-size colonial visitor who introduced the story was very interesting and as realistic as possible without a real person there. For anyone who has come to see the battle sites, I would strongly recommend seeing this short video first. It helps make sense of the different events.
