We recently moved to the area from Long Island. We have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant and we found it at Blue Orchid. Great hot and sour soup, my kids got Tangerine Chicken and Chicken fried rice which were both excellent. I had a special of Udon noodles with beef which was also great. We will definitely be coming back.
We have always enjoyed the food here. But our recent takeout order cost about 14% more. When asked about the price increase, a person at the counter said "it's only a dollar more". Problem is that though most main dishes increased a dollar, even the appetizers increased a buck. That means the percentage increase can up to 25% or more on many lower cost items. Depending on the combination of appetizers and dishes you order, you'll experience a pretty healthy increase.
Not the widest range of the menu like a typical Chinese takeout restaurant, but the food is fresh and always tastes good.
Basic but consistent and with good service.
This is hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant. I can't speak for the service because we only have ever had take-out. The food is amazing. The sweet and sour sauce in particular was a real treat complete with chunks of pineapple and served warm with the food. The fried rice tasted fresh and was full of big chunks of meat and vegetables.
