Gina Gilligo Yoga

The real deal! Gina teaches a very traditional vinyasa class with a focus on the history of the practice, and offers tidbits of the deeper meaning/purpose behind each Asana. The overarching theme of the class is to take the spiritual nature of the practice and apply it to your life; with the ultimate goal being freedom, liberation and enlightenment. As opposed to modern yoga where the focus is on fitness.

Coming from someone who use to take yoga for fitness reasons, my perspective has completely changed and I now have immense appreciation for the practice. I use to go hard and over exerted but I’ve learned to keep it simple and focus on my breath which guides my movements.

Gina is not afraid to correct you (even if you make the same mistake over and over like me!) and will teach you that it’s perfectly ok to meet yourself exactly where you are each time you practice. I now accept that some days I will perform better than others in class and that is OK!

On top of all this, Gina is very welcoming to all new students; introduces them and makes them feel comfortable. Each class is very light and we always have a great time! I look forward to this class every week!

Gina is the real deal! I've been taking her classes for about a year and she's a gifted teacher - warm, knowledgeable and really encouraging. Her style of teaching is great if it's your first class or you've been practicing for years. You'll really learn about yoga and how to continue your practice at home and off the mat. So happy I met Gina!
