I found Dr. Angelo to be diligent with my health. I went to 5 doctors who all diagnosed me with "take an antidepressant and you will be fine" After seeing her 10 minuets she tells me its my thyroid. I continue to have other health issues going on and she is like a dog with a bone. determined to get me feeling well. She is selfless and does go above and beyond. I drive 45 minuets just to see her. I have moved my entire family to her practice that is how much i believe in her.
My extended family and I have been seeing Dr. Angelo for over 15 years and she is a life-saver ! Reading these other reviews, leads me sad for Dr. Angelo because this woman is selfless, caring , dedicated and smart. Yes, she is a bit quirky in her bedside manner (direct and forceful), but I find that refreshing and wonderfully prescient.
She has repeatedly found that my mother had been misdiagnosed at local hospitals. Just recently she was admitted with shortness of breathe that the ER and ward doctors labeled a heart attack. Dr. Angelo, rightfully so, diagnosed pneumonia, which the ward doctor vehemently dismissed. After review, he apologized to Dr. Angelo and my mother, but not before she suffered through a series of agonizing and unnecessary tests. She recently diagnosed my wife for a thyroid condition that NY Presbyterian and NYU Hospitals both missed.
Our entire extended family uses her as our primary doctor and we've never been disappointed. Just realize before hand, you are NOT seeing a staid, buttoned-up, terse and corporate doctor. You are seeing a caring, educated and quirky doctor, that cares deeply for you as a patient and a friend. She will routinely spend 30, 45 or even 60 minutes with you discussing your problems. If you're in the waiting room wondering why she's so late, that's the reason. So you need to take the good with the bad. But, in our 15 years of experience, a late appointment here and there, or a long-winded diagnosis is worth. I can assure you that very few doctors in today's world care the way she does.
