  Really nice New York State park on Long Island. We went in the off season when they don't charge to get in the park for our kids cub scouts camping event. The trees were all bare so I bet it looks really pretty 8n the sping, summer and fall. They have a few playgrounds for the kids and a small beach to go swimming in the Great South Bay.

  Great trails to walk. Very relaxing place. A very clean park to come with family or a partner. The scenery is amazing all year round. You can enjoy a nice bike ride or a long walk. The new cottages that they are building are looking very nice. Great park for those with 4x4's when it rains to drive through the puddles.

  Beautiful fall day on Long island. Love to travel, but love our home. Just one of the great parts of long island. NY State of mind.

  Came here for a motorcycle safety course. Wow this place is beautiful! This is at field 7, you get the park and the beach all in one spot. Really nice, especially at sunrise. Definitely worth coming too.

  We love to go to Heckscher State Park and there is even a dog walking area which is primarily why we go there, to walk our dog. The only problem is that there are ticks on the trails. Winter is the best time to visit if you are going there with your dog or wandering off the trails by yourself. Make sure the temperature is 32° F or lower to be better certain of avoiding these buggers. The last time we went was in early Spring and the three of us had tick bites.
