  There is so much to this whole property its insane! Six different trails all of them very well groomed. The kids play park is amazing and all of my kids got worn out by it! The bird watching, trails, and all buildings were filled with different knowledge interwined with history. This place has something for everyone and big enough to keep you busy for days! Your really missing out if you never visit just saying.

  Fall colors are exquisite. When the house is open the guides inside have all the neat historical facts about the Stranahan family. The family did not donate the house and property to the public. The local people had to pony up and buy all of it through our hard earned taxes. There was a time it almost went to local developers who wanted to turn it into plats for individual homes. We did the right thing and All of us get to enjoy the Stranahan huge estate. It had a pool on the front lawn that had been filled in.

  Awesome fall day. All the photographers were out there with clients. Watched a deer family and enjoyed walking.

  The word on this place is that some rich people used to own it and then they donated it to the Metro Park system before they died. So that is an actual huge house. The coolest thing is at Christmas time they have the whole house decorated inside and they give tours going through the whole house. Also they have s'mores outside for everyone. I just hope the pandemic doesn't mess with that like it's doing to Halloween. Halloween, that would be an awesome idea if they had turn that house into a like Halloween house to tour

  didn't go inside but the place looked gorgeous and a family member had a wedding along side it. it was quiet and serene and I'd recommend coming here. Nice well kept bathrooms too.
