Our 91 year old Mom went to Forest Hills after having a stroke the last of November. From the moment there, the nurses/staff always went above and beyond with their compassionate care for her. She was placed on hospice last week and it seems impossible, but the loving care seemed even more so. Not just for Mom, but the 3 of us. We would highly recommend this place for your loved ones in need.

Forest Hills staff is amazing, patient, and welcoming. I would say about 90% of them care for the residents and actually interact with them individually. Some even go out of their way or take time out of their busy schedule to stop say hi, and ask them how their day is going. Wendy, the activities director always has something fun planned for them to do and she is always thinking of other things to add to the calendar. Marsha(?), the director over housekeeping, laundry, and cafeteria is amazing as well. She makes sure that everything is cleaned correctly and will also take time to help find your family members missing clothes.
The can’s and cam’s are so patient with my mom even when she gives them a hard time and work with her when she is having a bad day. They always let me know what she has been doing, etc.

The landscaping around the gazebo and courtyard need some major work but that’s not a thing I would think about when choosing a place. Just an observation.

All in all, the residents seem very happy and socialize a lot which is great to see.

My mother has been in this facility for a few months now.. and I’d also say that I have a fair amount of experience dealing with other long term care and rehab facilities (my late father was an amputee with dementia).

The previous “qualifying” bit out of the way:

I’ve had very few complaints about this place and all of those that I’ve had have been addressed in an appropriate manner within a timely fashion.

While no place is perfect. This place strives to be great.

I know from experience and speaking with residents and staff that the nursing department at this facility, from CNA to DON, truly care about their residents and their chosen profession. I’ve seen CNAs do things that I wouldn’t consider to normally be their job (nothing that exceeds their rating), LPNs go out of their way to find an answer for me, and the Director of Nursing herself, Kim, encourage my mother to wake up, get out of bed, and participate in their society. (I’ve seen these things not only for myself/mother but I’ve seen it for other residents as well.) Most of the staff seems to know her by name and converse with her. She loves it. Administration/management has been helpful in addressing the appropriate paperwork.

The facility is clean and functional. It appears to be well maintained. The building is great but, it’s the care giving team that makes me want my mother there instead of some other place.

All in all I can’t say enough about the people who help my mother live her best life day to day.
