Drum Lessons with Todd Bishop

Todd is an exceptional teacher that I highly recommend. A little about myself, I’m 30 years old and have been playing guitar in the realm of punk and metal for many years. I wanted to change it up and try something new. I took lessons from Todd for more than a year and the lessons soon became the highlight of my week. Honestly, the experience rekindled my interest in playing music. The lessons were varied, challenging, and good fun. He was always professional and accommodating with scheduling lessons. Todd’s philosophy is great and he will make you a better drummer and musician.

There’s no shortage of super talented drummers out there. Unfortunately, most are mediocre teachers. Todd Bishop is the exception- he’s passionate about teaching drums; just check out his content rich web site and it’s obvious. Todd is very knowledgeable and patient in his approach. Often he would not end our lesson until he felt I understood the concept or technique he was teaching. I’m on the East coast, been playing drums since the 1970s, and took Skype drum lessons with Todd for almost a year. With practice, his methods significantly helped to improve my jazz playing and site reading skills.

I took lessons with Todd for about six months, as my schedule allowed. He is a really great, generous teacher! I am a trained percussionist and was looking to get a bit more structure/challenge around my drum set practice, and Todd kept our lessons interesting and engaging. I'd definitely recommend him to any player, from beginner to advanced!
