Awesome place to visit on a Sunday!
This was a section of the Valley Forge that I didn't know existed. Yes it's purpose is for radio controlled model airplanes to be tested and flown. I watched a fellow fly a modestly large plane that did loops, rolls and spins. It was neat with the backdrop of the park's open fields. My astronomy club uses this area for public star parties where members bring their telescopes and allow the public to see things like Jupiter, Saturn and tge moon.
The RC plane club maintains this field and its 160 members spend thousands of dollars annually to keep it in the excellent condition. They have to pay a private landscaper because otherwise it would be just another patch of waist high weeds. The park does not cut me roll that field. Please be respectful and keep that in mind when using it for any other use. Thank you!
Delaware valley amateur astronomers setup their telescopes. Free for public ...come out...and enjoy the mesmerizing sky. Checkout the website dvaa dot org. I saw the moon today. Beautiful beautiful beautiful!
U need to take a gravel road to a reach the place.
Dvaa group held a astronomy night at arcola intermediate school on 28th April . Was awesome... breathtaking planetarium show. Magnificent moon through the telescope...!!!
More drones than anything else but learned a lot.
