(February 7, 2019, 10:22 pm)This Church and then Fr. Mike Schmeid, rather, Monsignor Mike brought a higher meaning to my Mother, Dolores and myself. We shared so much love & heartache, but at an incredible & miraculous time in our final year as mama & her baby, we were two women of much FAITH - in the exact place and the exact time OUR FAITH, our inherent beliefs, our whole selves were as ONE! I was raised in the Catholic beliefs, traditions, received all the Sacraments afforded a lay person. I had 12 years of great Catholic education, 8 were at Sacred Heart School which St. Augustine was known as the "overflow from Sacred Heart on Perry St., so strange it seems now.
I have not been back to ,"my mothers' & my Church since Fr. Mike presided over her "CELEBRATION OF LIFE" 012409.
AND IT WAS A CELEBRATION! THANK YOU, MAMA FOR ALLOWING ME TO BE YOUR BABY, still! Thank you St. Augustine for being that catalyst.
I believe it's time to return to mama's and my Church.
