Check out some of the weapons used back then. Pike poles, really?
This is the best museum of the park, it contains a lot of info about John Brown, some of his most remarkable quotes, an extensive timeline of his life, three film stops chronicling important phases of his life , the different perspectives about him from other eminent remarkable figures of that time, some of the guns and ammo used in the historic raid and also several images of John Brown at various ages of his life, this is mind blowing and absolutely stunning
Free admission and worth the one hour. I learned a great deal about John Brown, who is best remembered for his vigorous opposition to slavery and his doomed raid of Harpers Ferry to further his cause. He was captured during the raid and later executed for instigating it. His tactic might have been controversial but there's no denying the righteousness of his anti-slavery stance.
Fun if you like history
