Orton Park is Madison's (WI) oldest city park, located on the near East Side. It's filled with large oak and hickory trees, and has playgroundequipment. It is home to the multiday Orton Park Festival in late August featuring a variety of live music, food and beer, and performances by Cycropia Aerial Dance.
NOTE there are no bathroom facilities.
While watching the Ironman race, we took our 4 year old grandson to this park to play in between seeing our racers. He had a great time on the equipment!
Beautiful park. Amazing trees!!! Cycropia acrobats were astounding. A wonderful show on a summer's evening.
Orton Park fesitval. Another great park in Madison with free music festival. We wemt for 2 days. 1st happy hour on Friday half price beer and wine and great music from Slow Pulp. Saturday stopped in after bike ride around the lake.
Nice park with playground, gazebo, and lots of green space. Basketball court, lots of benches in a lovely neighborhood. Shaded playground area is nice in the summer.
